Betty S. came to physical therapy at DOAR South Boston in order to decrease her pain and increase her mobility. She worked with Mike McClellan, MPT, and Amy Comer, PTA. Betty describes her experience with these words:
“I had back surgery for a herniated disc, and my doctor recommended that I try physical therapy. I had heard so many good things about this place — I had a friend who was coming here. I wanted the best physical therapy, and I had been to another place previously where I didn’t get what I needed. Here, you come, and you do what you want when you want. It’s what you want out of it. I love the pool — I was scared to death of water, but I tried it and loved it!
I’ve gotten really good results. When I first started coming, I couldn’t do all my homework, but now, I am able to do it. I’ve made faster progress than I thought. They pushed me to do the exercises, and they were very good at setting goals while also stressing that I not do more than I was able to do. My doctor was extremely pleased with my progress and said I was doing exactly as I should be after the surgery. Without physical therapy, I’d probably be in bed and wouldn’t be able to get around. I would encourage my friends to go and try physical therapy. “
