Our services focus on supporting the occupational health of an organization’s employees. Our team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers and exercise experts are dedicating to meeting the needs of your organization. Our goal is to help prevent injury or recover from injury.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a comprehensive battery of performance based tests that is used commonly to determine ability for work, activities of daily living, or leisure activities. Performed by a certified examiner, a FCE is a valid and effective tool to support safe return to work, activities of daily living or leisure activities after an injury or illness. FCEs are available at DOAR Mt. Hermon in Danville, Virginia. To schedule an FCE, contact Margaret Irby at mirby@doarpt.com or (434) 797.1504.
Pre-Employment Screenings
We offer pre-employment screenings to determine if an individual is able to complete the necessary job requirements prior to starting a new job. Pre-employment screenings are not just for the employer, but are important for an individual’s safety too. During a pre-employment screen, we evaluate the individual’s ability to complete tasks required by the job, in addition to completing a general physical screen to assess flexibility and strength. To schedule Pre-Employment Screenings, contact Jeff Durand at jdurand@doarpt.com or (434) 836.4158.
Work Conditioning and Work Hardening
Work conditioning and work hardening programs can benefit injured workers from injury onset to return to work. Physical and occupational therapists use physical conditioning, functional activities, and real or simulated work activities to address the patient’s physical and functional needs. Through early intervention, many patients can return to work without additional services. To make an appointment, contact the Physical Therapy Clinic of your choice.
