Several years ago, Deborah received physical therapy services at Danville Orthopedic & Athletic Rehab after undergoing shoulder surgery. At the time, she worked with Mike McClellan, MPT and Steve Divinski, LPTA. Recently, Deborah has returned to DOAR Central, where she is working with James Turner, DPT.
I know what therapy does for you. I chose to come back to DOAR because they work you to the fullest of your potential. Everybody here is so nice – but they don’t play with you. They’re tough on you, but it’s to help you. I try to push myself hard; I don’t want it to be easy. When your health is at risk, the cost and the work do not matter.
Deborah says that one of her favorite aspects of physical therapy is aquatic therapy. She uses DOAR Central’s warm water therapy pool to complete exercises and walk on the underwater treadmill.
I love the pool! It is easier on my joints, and the water totally relaxes me. I just think the pool is fun!
When she completes her physical therapy services, Deborah plans to join the Alumni Program in order to maintain her desired level of mobility and flexibility.
The best thing I’ve learned through therapy is how important it is to keep exercising.
