James is a physical therapist. He is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of North Carolina. James is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Certified Functional Capacity Evaluator, and a Certified Trainer for the Physical Work Performance Evaluation. In addition, he is Direct Access Certified.
As Clinical Director at DOAR, James leads the teams at our locations in Danville, Chatham, and South Boston, Virginia. He also serves as the Clinical Director of DOAR’s affiliate locations in Martinsville, Virginia and Yanceyville, North Carolina.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Rocky Mountain University. Prior to joining Danville Orthopedic & Athletic Rehab in 1996, James spent four years as a physical therapist in inpatient and outpatient settings and four years as the manager of an industrial private practice.
Outside of work, James spends time with his family, mountain biking, and participating as an active member of Rotary International and West Main Baptist Church.
